2:05P: Panel #3 – Race & Women
SUMMARY: All across the nation, we have been having difficult conversations about race. We’ve had them with our friends, in our homes and our places of business. For women, we have navigated this space in different ways. Sometimes with fear, with passion, with uncertainty or downright conviction. On this panel, women of different backgrounds and ethnicities will share their thoughts around race in 2020 to include: how do conversations about race differ among communities? Who feels their race has been under attack, and why? How do we talk to our children about race? Are women pit against each other in the mainstream media when it comes to the color of our skin – and what does that look like? We’ll talk about mischaracterizations, labels, bias, and more – through our lens.
