Courageous Conversations About Race: PT 2 Articles

“Courageous Conversations About Race pt2: silence = consent”

There has been plenty of movement in the right direction since our initial courageous conversation about race. In Part 2, we’ll touch on topics from a local lens: How has institutional racism impacted our state? How have issues of race been addressed in education and policy – and what are the best ways to lend our support to these efforts? What about controversial monuments – should they come down? What can Alaskan residents do to help assure coronavirus federal funds are distributed in equitable ways?

Join us in this online space for delightfully uncomfortable women-led dialogue about our role in making our state a better place to work, live and play.

BONUS: For those who want to dig deeper in their personal work re. race, we are pleased to announce that our co-sponsor, Alaska Humanities Forum, will host a series of FREE (and more intimate) workshops in honor of our conversation. Tune in for registration details, and thank you in advance for your support.
